Smyrliadis
A car-body workshop in Marousi that ran on two paper notebooks. I designed its ΣΘ identity, built its website, and built a shared digital version of the notebooks for repairs, parts and customers.
Website live at smyrliadis.gr. The workshop app is deployed at app.smyrliadis.gr and still in development; how much the workshop uses it day to day isn’t something I can verify.

A workshop that runs on two notebooks
Σμυρλιάδης Θεόδωρος is a car-body and paint workshop in Marousi. Work arrives by phone and by reputation, not by signage or search.
Every job was tracked in two paper notebooks: a register of customers and vehicles, and a sheet per car with the parts, the work and the price. The brief for everything that followed was to keep that system and make it harder to lose things in, not to replace it with software the shop would have to learn.
Six directions, one system
The shop had never had a logo. I explored six genuinely different directions, each tested in one colour, because a workshop sign is painted in one colour and an invoice is printed in one.
A written review cut two, kept two as references, and carried forward the Evolution wordmark with the ΣΘ mark as its companion for places where the full name doesn’t fit.

The first real application is the workshop app below, which uses the ΣΘ mark, the palette and the type pairing. The website header still uses plain type until the new logo is swapped in.
What a neighbour needs: the number, the hours, the way in
A static site with no framework: Greek at the root, English at /en/, both generated from one data file. It carries the business’s address, opening hours and location as structured data for search, and leads with the phone number, because that’s how work arrives.

The notebooks, searchable and shared
Ψηφιακό Τετράδιο, “the digital notebook”: one board of active repairs, a page per car with its parts, work and costs, a list of parts still waiting, and a history. Search works by plate, name or phone. It’s in Greek with an English switch, and installs on a phone like an app.
The owner’s feedback changed it along the way: parts tracking mattered more than repair stages, so stages were played down and the parts list moved up; prices are typed as bare numbers, the way the paper notebook has them.

- No separate vehicle table: plate, make and model live on the repair.
- Part statuses are data, not code: Not ordered, Ordered, Received.
- Deleting is reversible: a repair moves to Recently deleted until someone removes it for good.
- Each workshop sees only its own data and photos, enforced in the database.
